Curious Dog Wants To Know Who is Behind Brew Pup

Who Is Brew Pup?

Brew Pup was founded by a person named Russell Leaich. Russell is passionate about craft beer, is an avid homebrewer, and a dog person. One day, when trying to decide what to do with the spent grains from a brew day, Russell decided to save the spent grains for making dog treats which could then be shared with all the neighborhood pups. Those first few batches of treats became an instant hit with the neighborhood pups and became the start of

Brew Pup.

Yummy Brew Pup Dog Treats

How And Where Are The Treats Made?

We make all of our treats using natural ingredients. Brew Pup Dog Treats do not contain any alcohol, hops, or corn, and you will never find any preservatives or added sugar in our treats. The spent grains used in our treats are sourced from the production of our own homebrewed beers in order to maintain the highest level of quality control. We handcraft all of our treats in our own kitchen, making tail waggin' good treats!

 We are registered with the

Missouri Department of Agriculture

Dog Treats Made From Spent grains?

Spent Grain from Home Brewed Beer Used for Making Dog Treats

What Are Spent Grains and Why Use Them?

In the brewing process, hot water is added to grains to turn the starches in the grains to sugars. The hot, sugary water, called wort, is then drained off and the grains are rinsed with more hot water to extract as much of the sugars as possible. The grain is referred to as spent grain after this process. After the brewing process, spent grain still has nutritional value and is a good source of minerals and fiber. Spent grain can be used for many purposes such as making bread, farm animal feed, and our favorite, DOG TREATS!
